The most ancient British breed the Exmoor pony is the subject for this drawing of a mother and her foal. I spotted them clinging to each other on Dunkery Beacon in the Exmoor National Park separated from the others in the herd.

This pastel drawing captures the mother's devoted nurturing of her foal, the use of pastel drawing out their depth of coat.
